FOUR OUT OF FIVE PEOPLE ARE DISENGAGED AT WORK. CHANCES ARE YOU’RE ONE OF THEM!
Gallup has released its State of the Global Workplace 2026 report. The level of employee engagement across Australia & New Zealand is 21%. That means only one in five people is engaged at work.
Culture & People Are Important
Which is why most companies these days have a written and documented Vision, Mission, and set of Values.
They are displayed on posters. Sit on a plaque in reception. Appear on the website’s About page and near the front of the annual report.
And that’s often where they stay. Box ticked.
Vision, Mission and Values are key components of the Culture & People employee engagement toolkit.
And yet, they are often done tokenistically and believed by no one. And here’s the proof:
Employee Engagement in Australia
Gallup has released its State of the Global Workplace 2026 report.
The level of employee engagement across Australia and New Zealand is 21%. That means only one in five people is engaged at work.

Message to the 4/5 Disengaged Employees
If you’re one of the four in five, ask yourself why.
Why the fark am I working in a job I don’t like, doing work I don’t care about?
To pay my bills? Is that it? Because that’s not good enough!
This is your life. Stop going through the motions. Step out and step up fucker.
