One in four people has a mental illness any day of the week. I know – I’m one of them.

Despite the ever-growing community and workplace awareness and understanding of mental health, it still carries a massive social stigma. Which is why this is an important week for all of us. Today is the first day of suicide prevention week, and this Thursday is RUOK? Day.

Stephen Fry has experienced mental health problems for much of his life. It wasn’t until he was 37 that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Since then he has become an advocate for outing mental health, which he does by sharing his experience.

In this clip, Stephen Fry talks Openly about his manic-depressive disorder, his suicide attempts, and mood swings, and the stigma that still surrounds mental health.
