The Story of the Champion Greyhound …
There once was a champion greyhound, the fastest racer on the track. He had never lost a race—every time he ran, he left his competitors in the dust. Fans called him a legend, the best of the best.
Then, one day, without warning, he retired. Just like that. No more races, no more trophies, no more roaring crowds. He left the racetrack and settled on a quiet farm, spending his days running through open fields and soaking in the sun.
A fellow greyhound, an admirer of his speed and success, couldn’t understand. “Why did you stop racing?” he asked. “You were the king of the track. You had everything—glory, wins, admiration. Why throw it all away?”
The champion greyhound looked at him and said, “You know that rabbit we chase in every race? It’s not real.”
Are You Chasing a Fake Rabbit?
Many of us spend our lives chasing something—a job title, money, social status, approval—only to realise too late that the rabbit isn’t real.
- Are you running a race you actually want to win?
- Is your goal truly yours, or are you just following what society says success should look like?
- What will happen when you finally “catch” what you’re after? Will it be worth it?
The champion greyhound realised that he had been running his whole life after something that didn’t matter. So he stopped. He chose freedom over illusion, purpose over performance.
What about you? What rabbit are you chasing?
